The peak torque limiter is a flow reducer that is located between the clutch pedal and the clutch in the hydraulic line. This well-thought-out solution limits extremely fast letting in of the clutch and hence also the associated high levels of dynamic torque in the drive train. The drive train is protected, while at the same time the weight and material costs can be reduced since the components can be made smaller.

Depending on the requirement for protection or comfort, the peak torque limiter has movable orifice bodies with orifice diameters of from 1.15 to 1.70 mm.

The second generation
There is now a second generation for development in the direction of even greater comfort: The use of a newly developed orifice plate and an additional spring combine improved pedal feel with optimum protection for the drive train.

This peak torque limiter does not switch in during normal driving and thus does not affect the pedal feel. The peak torque limiter only reacts once a set flow rate is reached – as is typical when the clutch pedal slips, limiting the flow of fluid and thus the loading on the drive train.
